The town of Oria with its Xmas lights and beautiful lit church provided the perfect setting on a cold December evening for the Artists of Almanzora Art Exhibition. As organiser i was one of eight local artists showing art work. My colleagues were Bruce Cameron - sculptor, Michelle Winfield -Artist, Frank Notteboom - Artist, Andy Walker - Artist, Cheyenne Hollander - Artist, Stuart Hyde - Artist and Antonio Domene - Photographer. The event was generously hosted and funded by the town hall of Oria. For me it was an opportunity to show three new canvases that will form part of a new series of work called Belleza Divina (Divine Beauty). I look forwards to talking more about this series in future blog posts.
This was a very well attended evening which was very enriching for all of us artists as we were able to hear first hand the reactions of the audience to our art work. A convivial aperitif allowed us to get to chat to our guests, whom we would like to thank for their attendance and much appreciated comments - one cannot underestimate the contribution the viewer can make to the creative act. I found the evening very inspirational and look forwards to channeling this into my projects for 2024. The exhibition runs from 16th December - 5th January 2024.
El pueblo de Oria, con sus luces navideñas y su hermosa iglesia iluminada, proporcionó el escenario perfecto en una frÃa tarde de diciembre para la Exposición de Arte de Artistas del Almanzora. Como organizador, fui uno de los ocho artistas locales que mostraron obras de arte. Mis colegas fueron Bruce Cameron - escultor, Michelle Winfield - artista, Frank Notteboom - artista, Andy Walker - artista, Cheyenne Hollander - artista, Stuart Hyde - artista y Antonio Domene - fotógrafo. El evento contó con la generosa financiación y acogida del ayuntamiento de Oria. Para mà fue una oportunidad de mostrar tres nuevos lienzos que formarán parte de una nueva serie de obras llamada Belleza Divina. Espero hablar más sobre esta serie en futuras publicaciones del blog.
Esta fue una velada muy concurrida y muy enriquecedora para todos los artistas, ya que pudimos escuchar de primera mano las reacciones del público ante nuestro trabajo de arte. Un agradable aperitivo nos permitió charlar con nuestros invitados, a quienes queremos agradecer su asistencia y sus valiosos comentarios: no se puede subestimar la contribución que el espectador puede hacer al acto creativo. La velada me pareció muy inspiradora y espero canalizarla en mis proyectos para 2024. La exposición estará abierta del 16 de diciembre al 5 de enero de 2024.
